ELDT Class A

This is an 80-hour Class A CDL training course. It is designed to meet all BTW (behind-the-wheel) requirements listed in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 49 CFR Part 380, Special Training Requirements. This comprehensive course, in collaboration with an approved training provider listed on FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry (TPR), covers a range of essential skills necessary to meet the industry standards and regulatory requirements for Class A vehicles.

Key components of the CDL class include: Basic Vehicle Operations, Safe Operating Procedures, Vehicle Systems and Reporting Malfunctions, Pre-Trip Inspection, Backing and Maneuvering, and On-The-Road Driving.

After successfully completing this course, trainee’s will be eligible to obtain their Class A CDL. OLTC will upload the trainee’s ELDT records to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (FMCSA) TPR.

Pre-requisite for this course:

  • Complete ODOT LTAP Class A online Theory Training eLearning prior to enrollment

           

           Create MYODOT account. Enter CDL Theory Training

  • Provide OLTC with proof of theory training through FMCSA Training Provider Registry

           

  • Provide OLTC with a copy of your Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) Class A
  • Provide OLTC with a copy of your DOT Medical Examiner’s Card (unexpired)
  • Provide OLTC with a copy of your BMV Driver Record History check

           

  • Provide OLTC with proof of registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse

           

  • Provide OLTC with Endorsement Letter from Contractor or Union Hall

*Fees for CLP, DOT physical, and BMV Driver Histroy Check will be reimbursed upon trainee’s first day of CDL training class.

*Please note that each trainee will have to pass a DOT alcohol and drug screen on the first day of class. A positive test result will disqualify that trainee from the class.
