Utility Line Locating

This four-day (32-hour) Utility Line locating course provides participants with the essential skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to safely and effectively locate underground utilities. The course focuses on the operation and application of industry-standard locating equipment used to detect water, gas, electrical, and telecommunications lines.

Participants will receive hands-on training using electromagnetic locators, radio frequency locators, transmitter locators, Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) transmitter locating equipment, and Hydro Excavation techniques. Emphasis is placed on safety procedures, utility identification, equipment operation, signal interpretation, and best practices for preventing underground utility damage.

Upon completion, participants witll have the foundational aptitude and field experience necessary to perform utility locating operations in construction, excavation, and infrastructure environments.
