Measurements & Leveling Instruments (A-1)
This Five-day course involves an understanding of basic construction mathematics and measurements including the use of rules, tapes, chains, rods, and optical leveling instruments. It is the first step in a series of classes designed to teach line and grade control on construction jobs.
Topics covered in this course include:
Bench circuits
Conversions to engineers and metric
Reading and understanding the engineers rod and tape measure.
Graduates are required to demonstrate the ability to make and record accurate measurements in feet, inches, and fractions of an inch; and in feet and decimals of a foot.
