Lead Abatement Worker

This 4-day course covers the abatement of lead paint in both building trades and heavy and highway applications. The course includes subject matter as required by the EPA, OSHA and the Ohio Department of Health. The class consist of both classroom and hands-on training. Trainees are evaluated on the hands-on activities including respiratory equipment, decontamination, work area containment precedures, and the use of abatement equipment in the removal of lead paint.

Graduates are required to complete a written exam consisting of 50 questions with a score of 70% or better. The state of Ohio requires the licensing of workers involved in residential and school abatement jobs. OSHA requires workers be trained in lead hazards for all other work.

Lead Abatement Worker Renewal

This is a one day refresher course required by OSHA annually to keep the lead workers certification current.

Lead Awareness

Offered on an as-needed basis, this 4-hour course covers the hazards and health effects of exposure to lead. This course does not qualify a worker to perform lead paint abatement.
