Training Center Updates
OLTC Bipartisan Congressional Visit
The Ohio Laborers’ Training Center hosted a congressional visit on July 29, 2025. The event was an open invitation to all Ohio Senators, Representatives, and support staff, with the intention of showcasing our state-of-the-art training facilities and educating new and longstanding legislators about the Ohio Laborers, their skills, and the work they perform in the field.
The event was a resounding success, with over twenty attendees; the bipartisan group took a tour of the facilities, led by Executive Director Matt Flynn and accompanied by various local union business managers. The facilities tour included various demonstrations from OLTC staff members, who showcased equipment, skills, and industry knowledge that they use in the field. Following the tour, OLTC staff and Legislators joined together for a light lunch where conversations and networking could continue.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to build relationships and educate Ohio legislators on the contributions of unions to Ohio’s strength and skilled workforce. The Ohio House GOP Caucus posted a great video summarizing the event and what legislators took away from their visit. That video can be viewed here.
