This one week course involves the fundamentals of fusion of polyethylene plastic pipe and various fittings. It is designed to prepare laborers to be job ready and be able to pass the ODOT certification test, which may only administered by a utility company. The course includes butt and socket fusion as well as electrofusion of plastic pipe. Repair of plastic pipe and control of static electricity are also covered. Graduates are required to perform fusion welds which will pass a visual and bend test in butt and socket fusion.
